River Corridor Survey

Decus Research was retained by a Local Authority to investigate a potential contamination plume into a river.

Initial investigations were undertaken using flourascein dye to determine river flow patterns around the area of interest. This was undertaken under varying flow conditions and digital photographs were then analysed to assist with the design of a sampling strategy.

Specialist equipment was utilised to collect samples from discrete locations within the water column which were then analysed in the laboratory for key determinants.

3D models were produced which allowed stakeholders to assess flow patterns and impact.
